My name is Pamela Haasen (Pammer on the radio) and I host the mix-genre show called 'I Digress'. This submission is a collection of clips and skits that I produced and acted in to drive listeners to donate during my hour-long show. I had the goal of $300 and exceeded it, which was a nice touch!

For the Syndicated Radio submission, I have chosen an episode discussing banned books and the ongoing genocide in Palestine. I think it reflects the typical tone of the show, and it is also the first episode to air after being picked up by 90.1FM CJSF so it shows some of that syndication energy as well. The episode also features a number of artists from the Palestine region.

As for me, I am Brendan, I started Syrup Moose Radio as a spin off of a record label that I started in my home, and have used it as a means of discussing topics that are deeply important to me, and sharing music that I think is great. I am an anarchist, and someone living with a mental illness - topics that come up on the show frequently.

The Big Broadcast 2025 Women’s Hands and Voices

Host Jana put together a broadcast in honour of the 16 days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. Join her as she provides knowledge on the importance of this campaign, talks with the Anti-Violence Project, and provides information on what we can do beyond these days.

The Big Broadcast is a drop-in program produced by a rotating group of volunteers. The program focuses on music and topics produced by and for women, trans, and non-binary individuals.

Met Radio CJTM 1280 AM  - Nature's calling but the city of Toronto isn't picking up the phoneCFUV - (Mia Johnson)

Mia Johnson is a journalist and audio producer living and working in Toronto. She has a background in local daily news, broadcast media, podcasting and sound design with a focus on municipal issues, housing and human rights.

I spent several hours over a two-day period in the South Parkdale neighbourhood late March, approaching residents and conducting interviews to better understand the desperate need for public bathrooms in Toronto. Toronto public space advocates say unhoused individuals and people with disabilities face greater barriers when entering public washrooms— that is, if there happens to be one close enough by. While doing streeters I met a trans resident with a bladder issue who had a lot to say, leading me to produce this audio feature.

CJSR - Accessing Home (Meagan Miller)

Accessing Home is a podcast series exploring the accessibility of community housing in Edmonton, Alberta. In Canada, the term “community housing” refers to all forms of non-market social and affordable housing. Across five episodes, the series delves into the multifaceted and relational meanings of access, examining how community housing can better meet the needs of disabled people, who are disproportionately represented in this sector.

The series is hosted by Meagan Miller and Zachary Weeks. Meagan is a non-disabled, graduate student at the University of Alberta with a background in community radio. This podcast is part of her MA thesis, and was produced under the guidance of an accessibility advisory committee. Zachary is one of her three accessibility advisors with lived experience of disability. He is a passionate advocate for disability issues and social justice.

The purpose of Accessing Home is to amplify the voices and lived experiences of disabled tenants living in community housing, with the aim of exploring how accessibility is understood and experienced by disabled tenants. It features interviews with eight community housing tenants who have physical and/or sensory impairments.

This submission comes from episode three, "Rethinking Housing Red Tape". It explores the bureaucratic barriers to accessible community housing, where they come from, and how red tape can also ensure that accessibility standards are upheld in the sector. Met Radio CJTM 1280 -  Gabriel Hilty, A visit to Allan Gardens Food Bank, threatened by redevelopment: 'We don't have anywhere to go'

My name is Gabriel Hilty and I am a fourth-year journalism student at Toronto Metropolitan University. I've volunteered for Met Radio since my first year in university and most recently was the News Coordinator for the fall 2025 semester. The piece I'm submitting is a montage from my visit to Allan Gardens Food Bank. Part of our winter programming, I went to the food bank that's under threat of eviction due to redevelopment to see its impact in the community. Following a morning interviewing and observing at the food bank, it culminated in a first-person report just over 20 minutes aired on our long-form news program 'The Final Word.'

CIVL-FM

CIVL has been serving the lower Fraser Valley through 101.7 FM since 2010. As a trusted local media outlet, and as a voice that reflects the stories and people who live here, encouraging people to believe that community media must be present, participatory and collaborative. In April 2025, we received CRTC approval for 92.3 FM, an important milestone for the station and the community. Our community is evolving and needs authentic, culturally rooted, locally tailored media coverage and storytelling which we strive to provide. Serving the diverse community across Fraser Valley through a variety of programs, events and partnership is our primary goal and CIVL continues to do that while ensuring that our work directly contributes to community development, inclusion, and opportunity. After working towards finally being able to reach our Chilliwack campus and community, home to ⅓ of UFV students and classes, since 2012, with CRFC funding to launch the fundraising drive that made the expansion possible, it is now a reality.
